Operating System Downloads


For Raspberry Pi powered: Ident Micro One & Ident CE systems



Imported Notice: At present our custom operating system downloads are NOT compatible with the latest Raspberry Pi 3B+ model released in March 2018. We are working to solve this and hope to have a working solution within the next 2 weeks.

All other Raspberry Pi boards including the older Raspberry Pi 3 model are unaffected.

You will need a valid Ident serial or ref number to download some of the software presented here. Your serial number can be found on the front of your computers original box or as a ref number on the label on the underside of your computer. (For Micro One users this lable needs to have been attached during building if purchased as a kit system)

Please Note: Unless stated these downloads are for Ident Computer customers only.

Additional software licenses are required for some downloads such as Ident's version of RISC OS 5.

Other software such as RetroPie is freely available to all and dose not require purchase of any Ident product or service.

Downloads and support for RetroPie come from the official source site and are not held on Ident's servers.

Please back up all your programs and files before installing any new operating system software. If refreshing an existing SD card ALL data on said card will be lost.

All downloads and/or SD card writes / re-writes or flashes are done so at the users own risk.

Available downloads will NOT work if using a None Raspberry Pi SOC board(s) with your Ident product. Please source official supported images for use with your SOC board.




Linux SIDE


Free to ALL Ident Micro One & Ident CE Users


Released: 26/02/18

Based on Debian Linux with XFCE desktop installed. This ultra lightweight Linux distribution for the Raspberry Pi allows for fast response times and loading even on older or slower boards.

The OS also contains:

Preinstalled Scratch , Libra Office and Midori web browser supporting some HTML5 content.

Linux Side is offered free (as a non-commercial product) to all Ident Micro One & Ident CE customers, and requires a valid serial or ref number from your Ident product.

Once download you will need to unzip and write the .IMG file to a new Micro SD card. Minimum Size: 8GB Micro SD (16GB - 32GB Recommended)

For this we recommend using a Windows PC and Win32diskimager which can be downloaded for free.

RISC OS 5


For licensed Ident Micro One or Ident RISC CE / RISC CE + users only.

Ident's own custom version of RISC OS (Build RC15) is now available. This classic fast-paced ARM operating system from UK based Acorn Computers can trace its origins right back to the 1980s BBC Micro!

Our verison features a number of custom software add-on and graphical user skins.

Once download you will need to unzip and write the .IMG file to a new Micro SD card or wipe over the top of the card supplied with your machine. Minimum: 8GB Micro SD (16GB Recommended)

RetroPie


Ideal for any Ident CE dRIVE customer, RetroPie is thee classic retro gaming OS!



Based on Linux Debian the OS uses off the shelf open source emulators to allow ROMs from a over 30+ years of video gaming to be played using a Raspberry Pi!

The OS is free at point fo use and can be downloaded from the official RetroPie website.

The custom Ident version of RISC OS 5 for the Micro One or Ident CE is only available to customers with licensed RISC OS products purchased from Ident Computer.

All processors and software is supplied without warranty and strictly at the owners/end users risk.

It is known some RISC OS software my not function correctly or at all on this new system or with later Raspberry Pi 2 or Pi 3 boards.

If compatibility is an issue we recommend you continue to use your existing RC14 build of RISC OS 5.

RISC OS 5 build RC14 is now discontinued. Please back up the version for your exciting Ident Micro One product before updating/replacing the SD card. Ident Computer is unable to offer this version (RC14) as download or replacement SD card.
